‘Behind Photographs’ is a new book designed to celebrate the history of photography, but not in any of the traditional ways. It tells the story behind each of over 150 different photographs and the photographers that took them, but it goes a step further.Tim Mantoani, the creator of the book, travelled across the country with a 20×24 Polaroid camera and captured images of the legendary photographers behind each image, all of whom are holding their work in front of them. To add to the appeal, Mantoani also had each of these photographers write about the photo they’re shown with.The standard edition of ‘Behind Photographs’ is available now for $60. The deluxe version is currently sold out.
